AVEVA Accelerates Net Zero Commitment, Exceeds 2025 Emissions Targets

In a recent sustainability report, AVEVA, a global leader in industrial software, has proudly announced that it has surpassed its 2025 targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) well ahead of schedule. The report highlights the company’s commitment to sustainability across its product strategy, operations, and corporate culture.

According to AVEVA’s 2023 Sustainability Progress Report, the company achieved four out of its 15 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals set for 2025. Notably, AVEVA reduced its Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by an impressive 93% compared to its FY20 baseline, exceeding its 90% target. Additionally, GHG emissions related to business travel (Scope 3) were reduced by 43%, surpassing the 20% target. AVEVA also maintained its position in the top 25% of security benchmarks and improved employee confidence in reporting unethical behavior.

AVEVA’s CEO, Caspar Herzberg, expressed pride in the company’s achievements, emphasizing the importance of reducing its environmental footprint, enhancing sustainability with customers, and fostering a culture of positive change. He also highlighted the company’s dedication to developing software that supports a socially just and low-carbon future.

The report outlines AVEVA’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, gender equality, and ethical practices. AVEVA has integrated sustainability into its core product strategy, introducing sustainability-specific features and investing in global sales enablement to promote the green economy. The company has also supported sustainability initiatives in academia, collaborating with over 750 universities worldwide.

AVEVA’s operational efforts have received external recognition, with its net-zero commitments validated by the Science Based Targets initiative and recognition as a Europe Climate Leader by the Financial Times. AVEVA has launched a Supplier Code of Conduct and responsible sourcing program to promote ethical practices throughout its value chain.

In terms of corporate culture, AVEVA has prioritized diversity, equity, inclusion, and wellbeing (DEIW) at every stage of employees’ careers. Over 37% of new hires in FY23 were women, and more than 200 employees received leadership training. The company also actively participated in equity movements, including signing the Change the Race Ratio and Race at Work Charter.

AVEVA’s Global Head of Sustainability, Lisa Wee, emphasized the benefits of a well-defined sustainability strategy, stating that it has provided direction, alignment, and measurable impact. The report also provides detailed insights into AVEVA’s sustainability solutions, gender representation, pay parity, and alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
